Hello Monday. Can't say I'm super happy to see you as you mean the end of a great weekend! But another will be here soon. I hope your weekend was a good as mine, and you've found time to create! I had fun preparing for scrapbook class that will be held tonight. I love having everyone over to create pages to document their memories and life. Speaking of which, I have a really fun scrapbook layout to share with you.
This layout features a couple of new stamp sets, Friendly Wishes and Bohemian Borders. Let me just say I am OBSESSED with the Bohemian Borders set and coordinating DSP--gorgeous! The DSP is bright and fun colors and patterns, but I decided to try something different with it. I picked out a subdued pattern of Delightful Dijon for some gold tones, and paired it up with Smoky Slate. The Bohemian Borders background was so easy to stamp with a clear block--I just used the largest one and put all of the stamps on their together that way I only had to ink and stamp once. Love those clear blocks! :) I layered my gold tones on top of that, and who would have thought Smoky Slate and Gold would look so modern and elegant together!
Even though this page pretty modern, it's packed with frills as well! The feather is from the negative (or trash, but I keep that) of Gold Foil Sheets. I just cut around the shape to make an outline of the feather. I added a Gold Foil punched heart negative as well, and a Gold Metal Button with Gold Baker's Twine. There is also Gold Fancy Designer Vellum Foil and a couple of Tea Lace Paper Doilies.
I just really LOVE how the gold and Smoky Slate go so well together, and now I MUST create a card in this combo. But I did add a bit of black stamping for some pop, and voila--so perfect! This will be one of the layouts we create this evening at Scrapbook Class, and I think it will be a hit! If you'd like more details on upcoming classes, check out the calendar below and get further details on the Class Schedule link above. Want to create it on your own?
