When we went to Hawai'i back in December, I became obsessed with pineapples! Eating them, decorating with them, buying anything with them, just everything pineapples!!!! So last week this wonderful vision came to mind to create a pineapple card! I had the products to create it, just needed to make it come to life. I sketched my card idea out, which isn't something I typically do, but felt necessary since there were going to be so many intricate parts. After I had a pretty good plan, I set out to create.
I'm just so giddy about this card! I started out with a white wood wash background using the Hardwood Background Stamp and heat embossed it white. I did this over a Crumb Cake background to make sure I had a good woodsy color.
My pineapple is made from Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede cardstock. I cut those two colors in 3"x3-1/2". I used the Striped Scallop Thinlit and cut the Soft Suede cardstock to create the lines on the pineapple. I glue that together then added my stem. The stem is from Wild Wasabi and the Fringe Scissors. I glued that directly on the card then used Dimensionals to add the fruit portion.
I added my sentiment on vellum because I didn't want to cover up any of that glorious golden pineapple! I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to heat emboss the Pool Party letters. The pineapple is cut from Calypso Coral Cardstock and cut from my Silhouette Cameo. At first I planned to use the Little Letters Thinlits, but those were just too big. I think the pineapple turned out much cuter in this fun, cursive font anyhow! :) I attached the sentiment with Antique Brads and Glue Dots behind those so now glue showed through.
Here is my pineapple card with my pineapple plant--told y'all, obsessed!!!! :) :) I am just absolutely giddy over this card, and so thrilled with how it turned out! What do you think? Are you loving the pineapple trim that's all the rage? The trend couldn't have come at a better time for me, since I have this new found pineapple passion! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Check back next week for LOTS of scrapbooking projects! Have a great weekend!
