Waterlogue Photo + Project Life Card

Well, I've been battling a horrible sinus infection for about the last 2 weeks! It's the worse I've ever had, and even took 2 trips to the doctor! I got extra strong antibiotics yesterday, and with only 2 doses down, I'm already starting to feel better than I have in nearly 2 weeks. Just in time for the weekend! Even though I've been sick and haven't got to create, it hasn't stopped me from dreaming of creating and traveling! To fulfill my creative and travel bug, I thought I would share a fun travel inspired card with you that I made awhile back.
It started with this photo I took in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu.
The photograph almost looks like a painting, so I took it to the next level with the Waterlogue App.

I printed out the photo, and had it stashed away for awhile before deciding it would make a beautiful card! I was inspired by the Let's Get Away Project Life by Stampin' Up! cards, so I paired the photo and a world globe PL card together for my creation.

I trimmed my photo down to size to use as my card background, and layered it with a Project Life pocket. I trimmed a 3x4 pocket off of a pocket page, and added a 3x4 card trimmed to 2x3 inside. I trimmed the PL card so as more of my photo background would show through. I attached the card to the pocket with snail, and carefully slipped it inside the pocket. I guess now looking back it would have made more sense to just snail the PL card directly on top of the photo then add the PL pocket on top, but oh well, still time I'll go the easy route! However, having the card inside the pocket allowed me to glue the PL pocket with my glue behind the card. Hope I'm making sense here!

Anyway, I added sequins inside my card, glued it down with Sticky Strip, and used washi tape to keep my pocket closed. For a little more pizzazz and to tie in the Tangerine Tango of the globe, I added a button with a bit of various twines. I used Gold Baker's Twine, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine, and threads from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim. I just peeled some sequins off, added those to my pocket so no waste, and used the thread for embellishing.

I absolutely adore how this card turned out! It's a marriage of my favorite things, creating & traveling! I mentioned on Instagram earlier this week, that I planned on starting our Hawai'i scrapbook, but I've yet to get that going. Remembering the beauty with this card certainly gives me a great push though! Thank you for stopping by today. I'll be back next week with a ton of new projects! See you soon!
