As I mentioned a few days ago, I finished a couple of scrapbooks over the last couple of months. I finally completed the scrapbook for our New York City trip, and, in just a few hours, completed the book for mine & Lovely's trip to Las Vegas. I thought I would share just a few more bits of each one last time before moving on to Hawaii! I'll start with NYC, and move on to Las Vegas tomorrow.
Our last night in The Big Apple was topped off with a trip to Radio City Music Hall to see the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular! Radio City is truly spectacular, inside and out, and even more so at Christmas! When scrapbooking, with My Digital Studio, these last pages of our book, I wanted to keep with the marquee lights theme, and really showcase the incredible Christmas chandeliers inside and inside the theatre itself. I couldn't fit this all in one layout, so there are several, and why not?! When in Rome, right? Or in this case New York City!
Before the show began, I snapped a photo of the theatre. It is truly stunning! The ceiling is intended to look like a sun setting onto the stage, and it doesn't disappoint! For the holiday show, snowflakes were illuminated onto the ceiling, as well as other things throughout the show. The show was indeed spectacular! The Rockettes are incredible, and are on point and in sync with every move! I highly recommend it for everyone, even kids as there is a great story and moral to the show!
Outside the theatre, but still inside the hall are grand and I mean grand Christmas tree shaped chandeliers! They are magical! The foyers are decorated to the nines for Christmas, and bits of the Art Deco era are everywhere! Outside the theatre, by the marquee lights, is a giant Christmas tree made of lights, so stunning! We even met Santa out there while snapping a selfie. :) It was wonderful to see such an iconic landmark and show on our trip!
As you can see from the layout, I tried to recreate the outside marque lights with text. I think I did an excellent job! I love this element of the layout! I added a chandelier from the Grand Soiree download and a Christmas tree from the Bright Hopes download, both which suit the photos perfectly. I'm glad to finally mark this book off of my to do list, and can't wait to get the books in. I printed two, one for me and of course one for my mom. I'm so very glad we took this trip together, and I can't wait for us to go back there someday!
