Today is all about a few of my favorite things, feathers, gold, & glam! So Lovely has been extra lovely lately, if you follow me on Instagram you might know why. He's been working on creating an entire studio for me. It was the studio apartment that my parents & brother lived in after they were displaced from their home after the West Fertilizer Plant Explosion. Luckily, they have been in their new home for quite sometime now, and so now we were able to finish the space. Following the explosion, we did what we could quickly to make it livable for them, and for them to have their own space. Now,
we I am excited to turn it into my stamp studio! So, Lovely has been lovely enough to help make that a reality. I'm not sharing the dets on it quite yet, but I do have a card I created for him to thank him for all of his hard work! It's a lot a bit girly, but I don't think he minds. ;) Besides, this card was too beautiful to give to anyone else but him. This way, it still gets to stay in my possession, sort of. Sneaky, right? :)
This card is packed with glitz & glam, and is a bit of a take 2 of this card I created awhile back. I used lots of embellishments for this card, and a bit of trash... The negative bits from the Gold Foil Sheet & Gold Glimmer Paper feathers I cut for that previous card. Remember not to throw those away, especially when it's something cut from such fabulous paper!
My background was created with the Basic Gray Marker & Air Spritzer, which is now unfortunately retired. However, you might still find it on the Clearance Rack, or create a similar look with the Gorgeious Grunge Stamp Set. Over the spritzing, I stamped a few feathers in Coastal Cabana from the Four Feathers Set, and hearts from the Chalk Lines Photopolymer Stamp Set (love those!) in Crisp Cantaloupe.
I topped this beauty off with a sentiment stamped on vellum and TONS of embellishments! I love how the card turned out, and I know Lovely was surprised to receive it. Maybe next time I'll try a more masculine version. :) For now, these frilly things will just have to do!
