Under the Sea

Good morning! I hope you've been well. Things have been pretty crazy around here, but I'm starting to realize that crazy is the norm for my life. I'm learning to embrace the hustle and bustle around me, and cherish the down time when I get it. I was out of town this weekend for a bachelorette party for my cousin. We spent the weekend in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and truly had the best time! I'll be sharing bits of that weekend via scrapbook layouts soon! Anyway, I have a scrapbook layout to share today from another fun event earlier this year. My mom and I saw Disney's The Little Mermaid Broadway show in Dallas awhile back, and I created the perfect layout to document our time.

I gathered my color palette from the Playbill, using Calypso Coral to go along with Ariel's hair. The remaining colors are Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding, Gold, and White. I went with a color block background, stamping my Coastal Cabana with the new Chalk Lines Photopolymer Stamp Set to look like waves.

I matted a couple of the photos, and used the Watercolor Wonder and Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape to attach the other photos to my page. I embellished with the In Color Sequins and a few loose gold sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim. I love how the sequins look like water bubbles. Perfect right? Since the show poster and Playbill have most of the details of what we did, I just did simple journaling with our names and date using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp. Remember: use a marker to ink the rotary stamps for a crisp, clean look.

I finished up the page with a title cut in Calypso Coral from my Silhouette Cameo. I couldn't be more pleased with how this page turned out! I love when something I create turns out even better than I imagined! :) I've lots more fun projects to share this week, so be sure to stay tuned! :)
