My Digital Studio Travel Layout

It's the dead of summer here in Texas. Though this particular summer has been good to us, I'm still dreaming of snow, AND battling what I thought was a cold, again. I've been a little under the weather for a few days, and it really hit me hard during the night Sunday night/Monday morning. So I went to the doctor, and we finally come up with a reason & solution I keep getting sick, allergies & allergy meds. I'm not excited about being on medication permanently, but I am glad to find a solution. I'd say I've had 10ish spells like this in the last 12 months, not fun! So here's hoping this is the fix. Anyhow, enough about me, and more about the project for today. Per usual when I'm sick, I like to create with My Digital Studio from the comfort of my couch or even bed. So that's just what I did today. I dusted off the file for our trip to NYC, and started creating. I haven't been as on top of scrapbooking our trips as I'd like to be, but maybe this will give me a jump start.

Even though I shared the cover and itinerary page for this trip quite some time ago, I haven't done much work on it since. So I am just in the beginning stages of scrapbooking this trip. I really had no inspiration for this page, but I knew I wanted to use a map and arrow showing where we were headed. I used the Nifty Fifty download, and colored it with the Stamp Coloring Tool within the program. This way I was able to make the stamp appear as one large image, rather than lots of images with the state lines included. I kept things really simple, and used a mix of wintry colors, Real Red, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, and Island Indigo.

I kept the background behind the map solid, which is necessary when using the Stamp Coloring Tool, but added a simple background for the rest of the page. I embellished with a snowflake, twine, and sequins. I love how the embellishments really complete the page. This has really given me a jump start & drive to get going on this scrapbook. So hopefully I'll be sharing more of it soon!
