The summer weather has been exceptional here in Texas! I do not remember a Texas summer with such "cool" temperatures. Usually by now, we are at consistent 100 degree plus weather. This year, I don't believe in my neck of the woods, we've even reached 100 yet. It has been great! With a much milder summer comes spending lots of time outside. We have been swimming a lot, so of course sun & swimming is the star of my scrapbooking right now.
The perfect patterned paper for my summer scrapbooking is the Lullaby Designer Series Paper. Yes, the BABY paper! I love using this paper for something other than what it is intended for. The colors are perfect for summer, Hello Honey, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, and Whisper White.
Aren't the Hello Honey patterns perfect for the sun? And how beautiful does it look against a Coastal Cabana background! I created the sun with the Circle Framelits and cutting rectangular strips of paper on a diagonal line (opposite corner to opposite corner). I alternated the patterns on the rays, and love how it makes the sun really pop! I used the new Little Letters Thinlits to create my title. I love these letters because they are large enough for a title, but doesn't over power the page. I cut the letters in Whisper White, and matted them on Coastal Cabana. Again, it really pops on the Hello Honey.
On the second page of the layout, I used 4x4 squares of paper and 4x4 photos. The photos on these pages are Instagram prints, which I love, no trimming required! I spiced up a Hello Honey Square with the circle from the Work of Art stamp set & Hello Honey ink. I added a stamp to uses as journaling. I stamped an image on Whisper White cardstock from the Feel Gods set in Coastal Cabana, and cut it out with the Circle Framelits. I added 1/2" x 12" strips of DSP for some added structure, and journaled with the Coastal Cabana marker.
I am so pleased with how this page turned out, and the Lullaby DSP couldn't be more perfect for summer! I am certain I'll be using this paper more for my summer scrapbooking, and I can't wait! I have a long list of scrapbooking to do, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more soon. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the layout, and are inspired to think outside of the box when it comes to unconventional uses for stamps and paper!
