My oh my, it has been a whirlwind of a weekend! Mine was jam packed with family time, loads of fun, lots of sun, and even some time to create! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend, and enjoyed celebrating several special events with family! Along with celebrating Independence Day, we celebrated our niece's 1st birthday Saturday (as well as my aunt's the same day). She had a sweet little princess party to celebrate, and I made her a darling pink card to suit the occasion.
I really had no idea what I was going to do for her card, so I took to trusty ole Pinterest, and found the cutest layout that would work perfectly. The original card is from Robin Feicht, and is so darling! You can find my inspiration and Robin's card here. As you can see, I changed things up quite a bit with the sentiment. I wanted to make the layout my own, and to work more for what I needed. I did, however, keep the same color scheme and general layout.
I knew before I started making the card, I wanted to use the "1" from the File Tab Edgelits, since it was for a first birthday. I accented the one with a heart, to bring out the hearts in the Gold Vellum, from the Hearts Collection Framelits. The rest of my sentiments came from the Starburst Sayings stamp set. I collaged all of that together, to make a big statement. And what gold card would be complete without the Gold Baker's Twine, right?!
I love how this card turned out, and thank Robin for her inspiration! I love finding the perfect layout and color scheme for cards, then changing it up to meet my needs for an occasion. Where do you find your inspiration? Ideas don't always pop into my head, so I gravitate to Pinterest for endless inspiration!
