Work of Art Watermelon Card

I've got a little late night post for today! This morning I was able to do a little creating, and spent the rest of the day with Lovely. He's on a crazy schedule right now, so that was a real treat! Anyhow, we are winding down our night, so I thought I would share a quick card I created with the Work of Art Stamp Set. I love this set because it is truly versatile. To me not only is it an art set, it's also a bit watercolor-y and has potential for much more.

This card is super simple, yet so fun! I used the two largest brush stroke stamps for the watermelon, the thinnest for the rind and the fattest for the melon. I used Garden Green and Strawberry Slush for the watermelon, and stamped them on Whisper White. I layered the Whisper White on Basic Black and a Strawberry Slush base.

I used the heart from the Another Thank You Photopolymer set for the seeds, and heat embossed them with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. Is the heart not perfect for cute little seeds? Makes the card even more fun! My sentiment is from two sets. "Sweet" is from Num-Num, and "Summer" is from the Project Life Day to Day Photopolymer Set.

This card is so much fun, and perfect for summer! I love summer watermelon, and so loved creating this card. :) Hopefully, I'll have more time for creating this weekend, and really looking forward to spending the day with my mom tomorrow! I hope you have a great weekend!

I've linked this card up with Catherine & Cathy Create June 2014 Card Challenge.

  5. Hi Dana! I love, love, love your watermelon card. It is one of the reasons I bought the Work of Art set. I am curious. Your description says that you used the smaller of the two curved stamps for the rind, but I only have one curved stamp - the one you used for the fruit piece. Help? What am I missing? It is a gorgeous card and I know I could ink part of the curved stamp and make this happen, but I'm curious if there was a change to the set at some point? I'm a demonstrator and I'd love to CASE your card for my next camp. I just LOVE it. :)
