Mother + Daughter MDS Scrapbook Layout

Early last week, I mentioned my mom & I went to see two Broadway shows recently. If you didn't follow along with me on Instagram, we had a wonderful time! We initially only had tickets to see Mamma Mia! in Dallas, but last minute we decided to see Jersey Boys in Ft. Worth as well. So we started our day early, headed to the Jersey Boys performance at 1:30, and once it was over headed to Dallas to see Mamma Mia! When I first bought the tickets to Jersey Boys, I thought it would be quite a drive over to the Music Hall in Dallas, but it was only a 30 mile drive--not bad at all except for some traffic. We had a wonderful time, and really, really enjoyed both shows! I highly recommend them both if you ever get the chance to see them on stage. We are pretty excited to see Jersey Boys on the big screen this weekend too (it comes out Friday). Anyway, of course, I had to document our day, and I took to My Digital Studio to take care of business.
I started with a simple base with the Textured Brush Stamp over that to a low opacity. Next, I layered on a neutral patterned paper with stitched edges. I knew I wanted to use music notes somewhere on the page since both shows are musicals, so I found some DSP with that pattern, and added that to make my photos really pop. I went in the order of our shows, Jersey Boys first so those photos on the left, and Mamma Mia! second so those photos on the right.

I used minimal accents, just some ribbon, couple stamps, and a wooden element to make the page pop. For my title, I used the Moments Ago Brush Set and Broadway font, of course. I used the same font throughout along with Alexandria for journaling. I really love that the page is simple, yet looks fun, because it was a really fun day!

Have you ever seen any Broadway plays or musicals? Since our trip to New York, I have to say we are little addicted! We really love them, and highly recommend everyone see one when you can! It was actually one of our favorite parts of our trip, and seeing these two shows has made us eager to return!
