Masculine Cards + Father's Day a Little Late

So I'm a little late in sharing the cards I created for Father's Day, but to be quite truthful I was a little late in creating them! Sunday morning I was scrambling to get them done after a wretched massage on Saturday left me feeling icky, but the most important thing is they got done and to their receivers! I know it's a little late for you to find Father's Day inspiration in these cards, but they are just all around great masculine cards that would fit any occasion for the men in your life, plus I REALLY love how they turned out, so I couldn't-not share! :) I'm stuck on that beachy theme, still, so it really shows with these two cards. Luckily, mine & Charlie's Dads like fishing and the water as well. :)

So the first card is a little "watery." Ok, so it's a lot "watery"! There is watercolor paper colored like the ocean with Lost Lagoon, Coastal Cabana, and Pool Party, and DSP with a wave pattern from the Moonlight DSP Pack. I accented with Crushed Curry to make it really pop, and added burlap for a sandy feel. I trimmed the edges of the burlap, doubled it up, and tied the two bits together to a cute little accent knot. I used the Work of Art and Metrotype Photopolymer Alphabet sets, along with Teeny Tiny Wishes for the "father" that's stamped on the flag. Everything is stamped in Lost Lagoon, with the Work of Art brush stroke stamped off first. I also used tiny bits of the Gold Soiree and Typeset Specialty DSP for an accented flag. I love how this card turned out, and love all of the watery elements!

Though I love how the first card turned out, I am completely smitten over this next one! I LOOOVE it! It is by far my most favorite masculine card I have ever created! Of course, it's beach again, but this time with a stamp set I'm digging out for the very first time, the Wetlands set. I actually started with the stamped watercolor piece, then put the rest together. The watercolor paper is colored with Crumb Cake & Marina Mist and the birds stamped over that with Black Stazon. I used a little different colors for the rest of the card, Lost Lagoon & Sahara Sand. My Sahara Sand mat piece is distressed on the edges with the Stampin' Distress Tool, and spritzed with Daffodil Delight & Bermuda Bay inks & alcohol mixed in the Stampin' Spritzer. LOVE those little guys, and at 2 for $2.95 you can't beat the price! On top of the Sahara Sand I added burlap pieces (same technique as above-trimming the edges), but this time I tied the two together with Linen Thread. Then, I attached the burlap & Sahara Sand piece to a Very Vanilla card base with Dimensionals.

I sort of took to the same look as the card above, and added an accent of flags & a brad.  Again, I used Gold Soiree, Type Set, and, this time, Moonlight DSP Pack for the flag. I attached them together with a Vintage Brad, and adhered them to my card with snail and a dimensional. I studied the card a bit after that, trying to decide where to stamp my sentiment. I decided to stamp it directly on the Gold Soiree flag with Black Stazon. I used the trusty Teeny Tiny Wishes set for this card as well. I hope that set never goes away! It is my favorite go to sentiment set!

I just love how these cards turned out, and hope our dads love them as well. I think I'll be making a lot more masculine cards with the Wetlands set & Typeset DSP--those two products are the perfect pairing! Hope you are able to find a little inspiration from these cards. Thank you for stopping by!
