It has been quite a busy week! I had a full work week, I'm preparing for scrapbook class and a stamp sale, and there's the regular household fun. Yet, some how I've managed to sit back and enjoy life. My nephews have been visiting, and boy do they make life fun! :) I'm always reminded of the little things when they are around, bugs, flowers, simple ways to have fun. After visiting with them earlier this week, I came home to our Crape Myrtle tree in full bloom! It was quite the delight, as this tree rarely blooms for us before October, and we have never seen it this full.
It's a pretty small tree, but the blooms are bountiful! I'm grateful for this reminder of life, and that it is all around us. I've been admiring it all week, and it's only made us want more Crape Myrtle trees! I shared a beautiful photo of the tree gussied up with the Rhonna Designs App on my Instagram on Monday, and I couldn't help but scrapbook this important tree! I want to remember the joy it's brought me this week, and the beauty it brings to my life by reminding me of the little things.
For my scrapbook page, I used My Digital Studio, and made the photo of the entire tree my background. I overlayed the words stamp from the Purple Passion Kit over that, and reduced the opacity on both. I used elements from several kits to accent my Rhonna Designs App photo of my tree, and my journaling is the photo description I gave on Instagram. I love using that as my journaling because it is exactly what I was feeling at the time. I used purples & gold with a touch of turquoise for my accents, most coming from the color match tool from within my photo.
Do you scrapbook simple moments in life? Where do you find small reminders to enjoy all this life & earth have to offer? I hope you enjoy your weekend to it's fullest!
