Venetian Romance & Gold Scrapbook Layout

Today is SUPER busy, so there won't be much talking today, but I do have a couple of projects to share in photos! I didn't take any photos on Mother's Day, so I haven't added pictures.
I came across a scrapbook page on Instagram awhile back (I am so sorry, but I don't have the link), and it used Venetian Romance DSP & Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape. Um, HELLO, could that combo not be anymore perfect!? How did I not use these two pretties together before! Anyway, I did case this layout, but I changed up quite a bit of stuff.

I did a lot of sponging on the base of this page. I used Soft Suede for the sponging. I also heat embossed the Mother's Day in gold. This image is from the My Mother stamp set in the 2014 Spring Catalog. You might also notice a little Gold Baker's Twine wrapped around the brad of the butterfly, just a last minute thing I added, and I think it made the butterfly!
Anyway, I also wanted to share the gift I gave my mom for Mother's Day. My mom & I were shopping a couple of weeks ago, and she saw a painting of "wonky" stripes in different colors on a piece of wood. It was really pretty, but the colors were all wrong for the master bedroom {and it was $300!!}. We walked away, and didn't think much more of it. Then, she recently sent me a quote and asked me to make it to go over her bed. I decided to mesh these two ideas together! I used a canvas, and painted it coral stripes (I added more and more white paint to the coral paint as I moved inward on the canvas). Then added the quote she requested in vinyl. I used Modge Podge to seal the project. The vinyl did a little bubbling, but I think it is because it's on canvas. It still turned out great, and I hope she loves it!

Thank you for stopping by for a quick post today! Promise I'll be back worth more great goodies!
