2014: The Year of More + Less

 Good Morning & Happy Friday! I can't believe half of January is already over! I have a feeling 2014 is going to fly by faster than 2013--and that was FAST! The year I thought would never get here has come & gone, and a whole new year is underway. I am so looking forward to all the wonderful things I know 2014 will bring. In my last post, I mentioned I have lots of hopes & goals for this year, and I'm excited to share those with you today. I'm hoping laying them out here will hold me more accountable. 
I've been thinking a lot about the last year, and all that has happened, good and bad. What initially comes to mind is the question of what is most important to me? This past year has definitely reminded me of what is most important and that your life can be changed in an instant. Whether that instant is the moment you say "I do," the moment new life is born, or the moment when people and so many things you once knew are lost forever, and so many other countless, important moments-down to even the most "everyday" happenings. All of these moments revolve around one thing, people. The people that matter most, yourself, family, friends, and even strangers. Given that 2013 taught me how quickly things can change and how what seems like big things don't really matter and how what seems like little things really do matter, I sought it fitting that my One Little Word for 2014 be more + less. So, that's two words, but they go together like peas & carrots. Two very simple words, yet so profound. This year I will:
  • Spend MORE quality time with family & friends (put down the phone, turn off the tv, and talk)
  • Be a MORE proactive and caring wife
  • Be LESS negative (Praise MORE, criticize LESS-myself included)
  • Create MORE
  • Eat MORE real foods (eat to fuel my body)
  • Read MORE
  • Be MORE active (Hello, I love walking & being outdoors, why wouldn't I?)
  • Care MORE about myself & the message I portray
  • Want LESS (LESS is the new MORE. I have MORE than I could ever want or need, remember that!)
  • Live MORE (You know all those things you've always wanted to do? Do them!)
