Making a House a Home Series: Guest Room

Good morning, I hope your Sunday morning is going well. I'm excited you stopped by today to see our guest bedroom.

This room has been a long time coming, and we're glad to finally have the extra usable space. Since redecorating our living room, we have had a lot of extra turquoise pieces so we decided to reuse them in this room. Everything in this room we already owned except for the bedding which was a wedding gift from Target. I also took pieces from my Stampey Room to style things up in here. I do still need to find a few pieces for the wall, but for now it looks just fine. I know the wall art when I see it! Anyhow, enough talking, here is what you stopped by for.

The headboard belonged to my mom and dad, then me, then my brother. My brother just got a new bed so I snatched up the headboard. I painted it two tones of gold, and I love how it turned out!

I decided to bring my sewing machine out of my Stampey Room because there just wasn't enough room, and move it here. It works perfectly, especially with the bed. I place a big board on it to have a large, hard workspace when working with fabric.

These photographs are all of our family and we had them displayed at our wedding. I think on this dresser next to vintage quilts that belonged to my great-grandmother is the perfect spot for them all.

These vintage handkerchiefs are also from our wedding. We had them left over so I decided to place them here next to the antique lamp that has been in my family for several generations.

I love how well this room came together, and we've already had several guests who have enjoyed it! We look forward to hosting many more guests and making great use of this space!

Check back again tomorrow for a look out our SUPER fun guest bath!
