Calypso Color Combo

Good afternoon! Hope you are all well out there! We are buckled down for thunderstorms today. So far we have been lucky to keep the tornadoes away! Others have not been so lucky, and my prayers are with them.

On a positive note, I have a happy card to share with you today. It is with one of my favorite new color combos, Calypso Coral, gold, and a splash of Pool Party. I cased this card from the Stampin' Up! blog, and used my initial to make it mine. ;)

I used Gold Shimmer Paint for the polka dots, but I don't like how it turned out. So, I am planning to redo the card using VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder. I'll share how that one turns out. The dots are stamped from Daydream Medallions. Within the medallions of that set, there are bits of rubber (stamp) circles. Perfect for creating my own patters!

I added some special touches with the "D." I cut it with my Big Shot from cardboard, making my own chipboard! I added shimmer paint to it, as well.

For a final touch, I added a bit of stitching at the top of the flag, and a Vintage Faceted Button with Linen Thread. Love those small, lasting touches! Sort of like life's little moments...I always seem to remember those most! :) Do you have any moments like that?
