RIP & Toxic Witch

I have a couple of Halloween cards to share with you today that have some neat techniques incorporated in them.

The first card shows marker to stamp technique (coloring your stamp directly with markers to make the stamp different colors or to only stamp one portion, in this case I used the latter).

I first stamped the entire tombstone stamp with the Tangerine Tango ink pad (behind the fence & crow). I then inked just the tombstone with a marker, and stamped. As you can see with the marker technique it gives a whole other look. It's lighter, almost watermarked looking in some places. I love this!

On the second card I used the sponging technique. I stamped the Toxic Treats witch stamp in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla Paper. I then used the Tangerine Tango ink pad and a Stampin' Sponge and sponged directly over the stamped image.

Now, I could have just stamped onto Tangerine Tango cardstock, but notice the different look the sponging gives. It's almost like a marbled look. Gives character, and that is so important to me with my work! What's your favorite way to add character to your crafts?
