Water Spritzed Wonder

I have been seeing these fabulous looking birds all over in the Stampin' Up! world. They look whimsical and soft. I knew they weren't stamped the old fashioned way, so my friend and I put our heads together on how to recreate this effect. We started trying to watercolor the actual stamp, and that didn't work (notice the butterfly on the card, it was done this way). The image was not bold enough. Then we had an "a-ha" moment! I pulled out my Stampin' Write Markers, inked my stamp with those, then, here's the trick, used a spray bottle of water and spritzed it directly on the stamp, and stamped my image. (The trick is to make sure your water bottle is on "SPRAY" and NOT "Stream.") This worked PERFECTLY!!!! I was SO excited! Here is what the card I created looks like!

I plan on making many more projects with this technique. I think a Christmas card with a "real" looking tree would look especially beautiful!
