Sand & Surf

A couple of weekends ago, we spent some time in Matagorda, Texas with my dad and brother, Klayton. We had a really great time, but anytime at the beach/ocean is a great time for me! Here is one of the pages I scrapbooked of the weekend.

I found a tutorial on Pinterest for a herringbone quilting pattern.
I thought it would be really pretty on a scrapbook page!
I used Bashful Blue and Whisper White to make this herringbone pattern, as they are nautical colors.
I should have done smaller strips, as it sort of looks more like a candy cane!
So I'll have to try this pattern again on another page. I think it will look MUCH better with 3 or more colors.

I used Vintage Faceted Buttons, Hemp Twine (retired), and Linen Thread to give an added nautical feel.

What do you think of my color palette? Was it beach-y?

Here are a few more pictures from the trip that I haven't scrapbooked yet.
Along with a trip to the beach we did lots of fishing!
I even caught a few, along with some serious sunburn!

I love the ocean & beach! Where is your favorite place to go?
